The simple presence of the Internet has created a lot of general interests in communications, technology and entrepreneurial ventures. It has deeply entrenched itself that almost everyone one the planet is highly dependent on it. From accessing daily news, to gathering sports scores and to making financial transactions online, many truly are dependent on this cyber lifeline. Most are attached to this intangible human creation that has so far created this virtual world of interconnectivity. And with all its benefits, it is still considered to be in its growing stage when described by computer scientists, as if to say that we are still far from what this web information can actually achieve on a perfect state.

But as people grow with this technology, so do the bad elements that take advantage of this opportunity. It is as though every progress that happens heeds a negative side to it.

With the web providing information all across borders, it has enabled people of all nationalities to combine, congregate and create new products that are unheard of in the past. Artwork collaborations, music streams and digital images have circulated over the net faster than before. This medium has also created issues in intellectual property rights. Piracy is more prevalent today than a decade ago. Projected streams of income each day as this threat grows with technology.

Creating websites and blogs have become easier today than it was years ago. By simply creating a blog account, one can easily disseminate information as soon as it is published. And with social media book marking and search engine optimization to assist, a person's blog can be easily viewed on a search engine's results page.

With blogs, any comments can be said about anyone or anything. Since it is a person's own opinion, it can easily be misread as a fact, and eventually spread like wildfire. Any negative posts can be distributed instantly.

Every person that accesses the Internet unknowingly broadcasts his or her own personal information to potential hackers, information scammers that may be able to produce identity thefts that are a common problem in the United States.

Establishing Cyber Laws are still far from achieving true potential. The Internet, though as helpful and informative as it may be, is still open to threats that can damage lives and properties. And by enforcing a unified cyber law, future generations of web users will be safer for it.
